Jelena is one of nominees for the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service by an Athlete. A native of Serbia, Jelena Jankovic works hard off the court to improve the lives of Serbian children. At local Serbian schools, Jankovic helps out wherever she can with school supplies and tennis lessons for the students. At the charitable event AMFAR in Cannes, France, Jankovic auctioned a tennis lesson which garnered over €45,000 to fight AIDS. In 2007, Jankovic became a UNICEF ambassador to Serbia. She takes this role very seriously and sees it as another chance to go the extra mile in helping the lives of the underprivileged. In 2007, Jelena received the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour ACES Award for her outstanding off-court contributions. Click here to vote!
